Sweeney Ridge Equestrian Seeking Non Profit Users

December 29, 2016

Sweeney Ridge Equestrian is seeking proposals from non-profit organizations or those looking to start a non-profit to utilize the ranch facilities. Horse programs and non horse programs are encouraged to apply. Non-horse uses could use the trails or upper meadow portions of the ranch for wildlife work, outdoor activities, or small scale farming etc... Horse focused non-profits that aim to use from 3 - 10 Horses would be an ideal match for the facility.

Funding is in place for existing or new non-profits to utilize the Sweeney Ridge facilities. Grants can be for set up costs or for ongoing support as needed. We are happy to share more info with any interested parties, contact maxine@sweeneyridgeeq.com. With 120 acres and bordering Golden Gate National Recreation (GGNR) open space we hope creative folks will come up with some great ideas.

650 Cape Breton Drive in Pacifica has been an equestrian facility since 1958. Over the years it has been used for horse shows, hunting, trainer programs, independent boarders, sheep grazing, small scale farming, and barrel racing. Until recently Sun Valley Equestrian, LLC, used a portion of the Sweeney Ridge facilities to board horses and give lessons but they have relocated. We wish them good fortune in their new home. With the newly opening horse stalls Sweeney Ridge is looking to enhance its mission to provide a community resource that includes more non profit usage.

We are also proud to have supported independent boarders over the last 10+ years and are committed to independent boarders. They can craft their own experience at the ranch and either take lessons from the on site trainers or not as they wish. We have space available for new boarders. Saddle up your horse and ride on over.

If you have not seen Sweeney Ridge Equestrian in the last few years you are in for a treat. The renovated barns and covered arena makes it an ideal place to ride in the rain or shine. Sweeney Ridge Equestrian offers full care boarding, quality hay twice daily, cleaning once daily, two independent lesson programs and regularly scheduled dressage clinics. If you are interested in taking lessons give us a ring.
